Over the duration of a weekend in mid July I had the pleasure of hosting 26 gorgeous Falcon Moms and their handsome Senior Sons for Mother/Son photos.
First off, let me tell you how GORGEOUS these moms are! They arrived all dolled up, hair done, nails done, great smiles on their faces and wearing their senior mom bling shirts! It was quite obvious that these mommas love their boys and were proud to be photographed with them. It took very little effort on my part to bring out the smiles, these mommas knew exactly what to do.
I truly think the boys...eh... fine young men... enjoyed it just as much as their mommas! Some wanted the serious "football face" and some gave big grins. Some made sure their hair was in place and some made sure the jewelry showed just right. But one thing was clear for sure, all of these young men each love their momma! They were all a joy to work with. No complaining, very respectful and very excited to get the season going!
This was the first opportunity for them to see the new jersey! I think it has a retro feel to it, a flash back to the 70s with the stripes on the sleeves. I think the players enjoyed how tight fitting they were, some made comments about how the opponent won't be able to grab on to the jersey with it being that tight. I will say thank heavens my husband was assisting me because some of them needed assistance pulling the jersey off over their heads! That's tight! I'm sure they will look amazing when they put the pads on underneath.
In the end all had fun, and a few tears were shed. It's ok, this is fun, but emotional at the same time. My advice is to you, Senior Mom, is enjoy every moment, this season will go faster than you could ever believe. Have your tissues ready at all times, you never know when "it" will hit you. And when it's done be darn proud of the son your raised and know that you have done all you could to prepare him for the next chapter.
And to the players.... enjoy this, every practice, every game, every cheer from the crowd, every high five from a fellow player. For some it's the end of the road, for others you will continue on in college. Memories that will last a lifetime will be made this season. Hug your momma, she's going to need it. Play safe, leave it all on the field, I wish you the best season ever!
