Free yourself, BE yourself! Project Beauty is about letting go of those insecurities, just be your real self, free from makeup and filters, free to stand strong and believe that you are enough as you are, that you are worth it, that you are beautiful inside and out!

Project Beauty is a nation wide movement that began in 2017 by the amazing Photographer, Thomas Nguyen. Project Beauty sends a powerful message to help free girls from the idea that they need to be perfect. This movement is about empowering young ladies to accept the flaws that make them uniquely beautiful.

Social media sends a terrible message to the youth of today. With the use of filters to hide all the imperfections it's giving a false sense of what true beauty is.

What is true beauty?

It's not a certain shape, size, color. It's not the trendy skirt or dress, it's not a thousand what smile or cute boots. It's our uniqueness, it's our inner beauty, it's how we treat others, it's how we accept ourselves. It's so many things, but it is not a filter on a cell phone or the clothes on your body.

Project Beauty empowers young ladies to strip away the makeup and filters. It builds confidence! It TAKES STRENGTH to get in front of the camera without the shield of a filter or makeup. Project Beauty gives the subject a voice to say "her I am, I am STRONG, I am WORTHY, I AM ENOUGH just the way I am", without actually speaking.

EMPOWERING!

The wrong words HURT, the right words EMPOWER! Project Beauty brings out the words that EMPOWER YOU! Shout it out! Believe the word you are shouting! Wear the word. Once it has washed away continue wearing it in your soul. Live it every day. Believe it every day! Wash away the negative words, hold on tight to the powerful words that drive you.

You are ENOUGH.

You are so much more than enough.

You are STRONG, you are UNIQUE.

Project Beauty

As a person who grew up being bullied most of my youth I understand how words can hurt. It took me a long time to learn that the words may hurt but they DO NOT define me. Only I have the power to rise above, but it's hard to do alone. Sometimes it just takes a simple act of kindness, a simple smile, or the right person to point you in the right direction.

I truly hope that every young lady who participates in this gains a little bit of confidence, a little bit of joy and a little bit of self love, and can see the natural beauty that they are. The make up, the cool clothes, the awesome shoes... it's all fun, but it is NOT defining! Maybe, just maybe, together we can change and empower the women of the world; one, clean, fresh face, at a time.
